The Black Faced Sheep Café & Restaurant is known for it’s warm welcome and delicious food. We are proud to say there is not an panini in sight!
Instead, you will be treated to homemade focaccia served with our famous bruschetta’s, delicious soups, fresh salads and our well-known cakes to round it all off. Our food is freshly made to order and all baking is done on site, something we are very proud of.

Events & Evenings
At The Black Faced Sheep we host monthly evening dining events on the last Friday of every month (except December).
Expect delicious food, outstanding wines and a great atmosphere! In 2025 we will be holding a variety of events, courses and workshops from a range of speakers.

Please contact us if you are looking for a special private event. The Black Faced Sheep provides a space that is both intimate and flexible for private groups.
Whether you are looking to host a drinks & canapes event, a birthday party, a funeral, a pre wedding evening, an anniversary dinner, a celebration of life, a workshop and lunch etc, we have great experience in delivering an outstanding experience for all occasions.
Our Wines and Cremants are carefully selected from northern Europe and our evening menus can be tailored to suit your requirements.

Outside Catering
If your are hosting your own event but would like some help with the catering, our delicious food and legendary cakes are also available to order.
Our homemade pate, meat or fish platters, coleslaw and various salads are all available in larger catering portions and all of our cakes are available to order whole - all we ask is 24 hours notice (although sometimes we can pull the proverbial rabbit out of the hat - you can but ask!).
We are happy to cater for a variety of outside events such as birthday parties, christenings, anniversaries, small wedding buffets, and for funerals (all treated with a delicate, unobtrusive care).

Picnic Lunch
Delicious picnic lunches are available from The Black Faced Sheep from £14.95 per lunch. Ideal for Games Days, fishing days, cycle days, big hike days - or even just to enjoy the on The Aboyne Green!
Our picnic lunches include:
- Sandwich Baguette (filling of your choice from our menu)
- Cup of soup of the day
- Fruit scone with butter and jam
- Salted crisps
During summer months, we recommend that you order 24 hours in advance if possible, so we can have your Picnics ready for your to collect at your convenience!
